Vintage Coach
Remember way back when I was thrifting out the the super western burbs and found this? I happened to be out there again a few weekends ago and vintage coach luck has struck again. I found the above perfectly distressed willis bag, as well as a small black turnlock cross body bag., for $4 no less. If you love this style but don't have the patience to thrift and dig, here's a great one on Etsy right now.

Scored
Santa was so good to me this year as always. Most of what was on my wish list made its way under the tree. The above goodies were pure bonus: spotted calf hair flats were super on sale at Banana Republic, this thrifted brass and crackle glazed orange beaded necklace, and these thrifted calf hair loafers.

So What's New?
Here's a collection from around the house : Succulents! so far these guys are going strong hopefully in the coming months they will fill in the pot a bit, but the string of pearls have already grown 2 inches. I'm going to try my best not to kill them. Marble Cheese Plate: I originally got the idea from this pin, it's just a marble floor tile with some little plastic protectors on the bottom, I decided I liked it better with out handles. New Kilim: another super sweet craigslist score only $75. Marble Outdoor Table: "Things I've made out of Tile" could almost be it's own blog post, which reminds me I don't think I ever posted about the slate cheese tray I made, probably because it hardly seems like a DIY, but it sure beats buying those expensive ones, a slate tile will cost about $2, but back to my new little outdoor table...I bought 2 from target last summer for $5 each. They originally looked like this until the seat cushion got hopelessly ruined in the rain, luckily a 12x12 marble tile fits perfectly on top. Dansk Kobenstyle: I found this guy at Homegoods 50% off the crate&barrel price, not as satisfying as finding a vintage one for $2 at the thrift, but still pretty good... and lastly my Fav New Shirt Right Now: kinda mens pajama ish, but I love it.
What's new with you?

Lets Get Sculptural
...and speaking of craiglist, I also found 3 Russel Woodard Sculptura chairs looking for a home for the deal of the century. It's been a good summer for finds. They need some love, but all welds and wires are still firmly in place. Currently they are brownish black but I think I'll spay them white or maybe check into powder coating. One of the trio is headed to Detroit to grace my bestie's porch, while the other 2 will remain in Chicago and hopefully be the crown jewels in a newly landscaped back yard...next summer.

Living Room Update
So this is where we left of with the living room, although now I've grown tired of the Nelson wannabe coffee table and I want something light and bright, I'm thinking glass. The 2 above are both on craigslist right now for not toooo much money. Once I downsize the coffee table I'm going to bring up the cane dish chairs from the basement. I found them ages ago at an estate sale, and they didn't quite work before.

Holiday Place Setting
After spotting this place setting on Coco Kelley, I am on the hunt for some sweet mismatched dishes at the thrift. My plain sad white dishes just don't cut it for the holidays or special dinner parties.
I think I've already professed my love of gold flatware and there are some great vintage sets on ebay, and if I could only find a matching champagne coup to go with the set I found awhile back

Bar Cart

Remember this lil bar cart that I picked up long the side of the road? This wood and brass cart was such a steal, and has traveled to each place we've lived.
However the black tray part was looking a little worse for wear, and I thought about having marble cut to replace it (way too expensive) I also thought about painting it, but I wasn't sure if it would turn out.
I did have some faux crocodile vinyl left over from another project...and since the whole bar cart unscrews I decided to bust out the spray adhesive and see if it would work

Fall Favs
Just ordered this jacket from H&M, between this and my zara thrift score#1 and #2 I'm more than set on outerwear. This summer was all about fancy necklaces, dang the ones at J Crew were way too $$$ so I'm glad to see that Zara has some more affordable ones out. Last Winter I got a bottle of Tokyo Dark-Arsenic, with notes like Sea Salt, Vanilla Bean, Cut Greens, Cardamom, Crushed Fennel, Woods, Tonka, and Absinthe, it feels totally fall to me. I've never bought anything at Madewell before, so maybe this lil gold ring will be the first? Black D'orsay flats from Zara...nothing super fall ish about these, I jut want them
and finally you can't do fall with out moccasins, these are Minnetonka and I just figured out that I can fit into a child's size 4 (kids sz 4 = ladies sz 6) so moccasins just got a whole lot cheaper y'all

West MI Thrift Haul
Last weekend at the cabin wasn't exactly a vacay. It was hard work, but the ceiling is done! I'll have some pics soon. I also scored some treasures on the way up in Holland MI. 1. a little brass cray fish? 2. some candle holders, can't wait to try this DIY and 3. I finally finally found a convex mirror, not sure if I'll keep the frame, or try some rope around the mirror.

Paul McCobb Windsor
When I dragged the orange/red chair outta the alley, I just knew it looked super sweet, and the garbage man was coming...so better grab it now. Great lines, love the color and how the paint is chipped and worn.
Since then I've been spotting these Paul McCobbs around... and the resemblance is striking, non?
Not exactly the same, but pretty darn close

on a roll
Thrift gods are still smiling down. I scored a teeny tiny coach push button bag. The sticker said $18, but whatever I loved it, and they're all over Etsy for $80
(rare vintage from the 90's...erm 90's isn't vintage but whatever)
When I got to the counter I impressed the girl with my horrible Spanish, and she said, WOAH $18 for this tiny bag? I'll mark you down for $8.
This sort of thing always happens to my girl Esme, but never to me...So needless to say it made my day ay

Thrift Haul
Dang the past few months have been good in the thrifting dept. I'm pretty excited about that hat! I've already started looking up trips to wear it on.
I'm thinking Zanzibar the "Spice Island"...Whats not to love: safari, beaches, Masai, remote, colorful, markets, beads, spices, palaces from the sultans of Oman. Here's a one week itinerary, which could easily turn into 2 if you add "laying on the beach" every other day.

Hoarder
spotted this amazing antique birdcage in the window of the thrift I drive by twice a day to and from work, I'm supposed to be on a January budget as part of my new years resolutions (along with working out everyday, and doing a project a month) but... I just couldn't resist, I love it so much.

Thrift DIY
Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I made the 5 hr trek to MI to be with my friends and family for Tofurkey Day. I ate until I was feeling gross, and shopped until I was feeling poor.
I peeked in at the thrift and had really good luck!!! Found the above dress for $2 and loved everything about it except for the tacky Hawaiian flowers. Tada!

Got Some Trim
I went thrifting yesterday and found a sweet lamp, and some sweaters and a fur collar for $1
more pics of the lamp and co from earlier in the week to come, but I'm super excited for this fur. Especially since I just saw the preview of Anna Karenina. This photo is not me, but it is my collar, er almost exactly. also I should say that either faux or second hand is the best most humane (not to mention cheapest) way to get fur
