Last month while trolling craigslist I spotted an ugly wood coffee table with a gorgeous round slab of Italian carrera marble sitting on top. I measured my crappy ikea docksta table, then measured the trunk opening of my tiny hatchback, and emailed the seller. The rest is history, look at those striations so lovely. The only down side is that with the weight of the marble it's a bit wobbly, I've had my eyes peeled for a cast aluminum tulip base, and I'm kicking myself for selling the one that I had a year ago...thinking "I'll never find a perfect marble top for this, why am I storing it"
..ahh craiglist can be so fickle.
