Birthday Scents

Honestly my birthday has never smelled better. My husband and my bestie gifted me two amazing scents and I've been wearing them ever since. The notes in B. Balenciaga sound a bit strange, but trust me they melt into a really rich layered unique yet classic at the same time scent, and Roses De Chloe is so simple yet so good! It smells like spring/summer and I'd say if you love Stella, you'll love the softer fresher version of rose and amber. I highly recommend checking these out next time you're in Sephora.

All Black Everything

HBD to meeeee. Last Wednesday was my 32nd b-day, which I have to admit was feeling a little un-special since for the past 2 years a vacation always seemed to coincide (Puerto Rico then Mexico) Also 32 isn't exactly a milestone b-day.
(well 31 isn't either but...)
Then little gifts started showing up in the mail, flowers at work, then a fancy b-day dinner, delicious cocktails, more prezzies, and a PARTY. Exactly what I needed.
Mr. W gifted me this super rad all black everything Diesel watch,
I LOVE IT,  and so far I love 32, lets see what this year brings.

Christmas Haul

In spite of being sick, Christmas was good to me this year.  For the first time ever I asked for some things for the home, some wine decanters with a wood stopper similar to those west elm decanters I loved so much. A marble wine chiller.  Some Henri Bendel candles, seriously these were the only good thing to ever happen to Bath & Body Works.  A few perfumes from tokyo milk SUCH good scents.  

A cozy Zara sweater, and some "shooties" from anthro...I laughed so hard when I saw them listed as "shooties" on the invoice, but I guess it makes sense? can't exactly call them booties if they have an open toe...  

and finally the gift of the year as it seems since I got these earrings from 3 separate people.  They are lovely (a bit heavy but who cares)

DIY Christmas

I'm trying to come up with some cute DIY ideas for Christmas gifts this year. Here are my top picks. I've always wanted to play around with making some perfumes something citrusy or spicy maybe with notes of bergamot, lemon, basil, cedar, hmmm what else?
I've also had my eye on these Martha Stewart leather envelope wallets, or clutches (depending on how much you enlarge the template) all you need are some interesting colored leathers and the screw on button closure.

Last but not least, I'd love to make some infused oils for everyone, maybe rosemary garlic, serrano grapefruit? or lemon peel peppercorn. Last year I made scented candles, cinnamon, cranberry, myrrh, and cedar. Candles were super fun and not too expensive, but yikes they were messy, and I ruined a few pans/measuring cups/stirs with wax.
But they lasted a long time (I'm still burning one) and friends seemed to like them.

Christmas Was Good to MEEEEEE

Mr. W is on pinterest and it certainly showed as I started unwrapping tons of the stuff I had pinned.

and just when I thought it was all over, I can home to a little package on my porch with this adorable clutch inside, swooooooooon.  The excitement is still at an all time high!!!

Holiday Party

This past weekend was our first ever Christmas party in our house. It was so much fun I'm sure there will be many many more to come. We festooned our half bath into a photo booth with a cutiecute back drop. We drank Elderfashions (old fashion with st. germain) and Cranmerrys (champagne with cran and grapefruit bitters) we exchanged white elephant gifts (LOVED what I ended up with), we chatted, we danced, and then we drove to Lazos and ate mexican. also I rocked a mumu all night... BEST CHRISTMAS PARTY
